What my life feels like sometimes...

As a senior I have a lot to think about in the next few months. First of all i have to pick a school. Second I need to apply for a ton of scholarships. Then i need to fill out housing forms and roommate surveys and so on, and so on. I would love to say that i have all these things done, that i could mark checks next to all of the above. Sadly i can't check yes to any of these. While i have applied to 5 schools and been accepted at all of them, I can't say I've chosen one. I have however Narrowed i down to two. Clarke college in Dubuque, Iowa and St. Benedicts in St. Joesph, Minnesota. As far as scholarships go i have about two started, not exactly what i call "a ton". Luckily I have my ACT done and am happy with my 30, so i can forget about that. As far as everything else goes, I haven't even started on that yet. Looks like I'm going to have a very, very busy rest of the year.
In college I plan to run both cross country and track. That will most likely keep me really busy, but what else is new. As if that's not enough I plan to double major in English and Theater. As a theater major the plays will also add to my hectic life. If you add in all of my classes, possibly a social life, and heaven forbid sleep, this next year will be in a word, fun. I plan to be a big fan of naps and an even bigger fan of caffeine. I'm both excited and frightened by this new venture, but one thing I do know is that College is going to be a great adventure and i can wait to start.
As for the rest of this year I plan on being extremely busy. Being the lead in Alice in wonderland, plus track, and not to mention school and graduation I won't have much free time. I can't wait until summer when I'll have more time to hangout with friends, although with all of this snow all of my younger friends will still be in school until late June. I also plan to work a ton to make money for college. I also want to council at my church camp for a week or two. My mom is also planning a trip to Ireland, so that will be another thing to look forward to this summer. Cute Irish Boys, pretty green country side, and driving on the wrong side of the road. I can't wait! As busy as I'll be the rest of the year I think it will be one of the best years of my life.

Movie nights with the band kids...

Most high school student have been to the typical "movie night", late nights, lots of junk food, highly caffeinated beverages, good friends, and a pretty awesome movie. Movie nights at my house are the same only we add in the "band kid" effect. Believe it or not band kids really don't fit the American Pie "band kid" stereotype. What we can do is throw good movie nights. Not only do you have the camaraderie that comes with spending early mornings and long bus rides together during marching band season, but because the band consists of fairly artsy students, well let's just say we know how to pick movies. It's amazing that you can be comfortable while sitting on the floor in a small, over crowded room, but i'm here to tell you it is. The one thing that hinders our movie nights is my lack of movie selection, our first movie night we watched Night at the Museum it's a pretty good movie... for kids. But even in the wake of a less than perfect movie the "band kid" effect prevails. We were still able to have a great time and start planning the next one before we had even left the first. Now a couple of movie nights later my collection has grown with the help of christmas and half price books. At the last movie night we watched Watchmen. Watchmen was really good, gory, but good. Along with the improvement in the quality of the movie we also enjoyed bashing and praising the snuggie, as much as i hate to admit that we have not only one, but three laying around our house they are outrageously cofortable and warm. So with Watchman in the blueray player and our snuggies on we enjoyed another awesome movie night. Can't wait for the next one.
